Aaron and Casey are joined by the virile and massively intelligent Matthew Carruth. Matthew is the proprietor of StatCorner, a writer at USS Mariner and Fangraphs, and formerly of Lookout Landing. Matthew talked to two idiots about NFL transactions, the Seahawks, beer, and a bunch of other things. Please enjoy our 18th episode.
On this week’s podcast Aaron and Casey are joined by Casey’s good friend Matthias Kullowatz. Matthias is a stats professor, and one of the smartest guys in the world, and recently attended the Sloan Analytics Conference representing the university he teaches for, and more loosely the website he writes for, American Soccer Analysis. In addition to Matthias’ recent exploits, the guys talked about some controversy surrounding a joke that Aaron told, NFL free agency, soccer, and the value of modern sports metrics.
Unexpectedly alone, Aaron and Casey extended their contrition from last week but eventually made up and got along with each other. They talked mostly about baseball in this episode, including Josh Hamilton, Michael Saunders, and Jesus Montero. They revisited the two Mariners Cliff Lee trades so that Casey could talk about John Jaso.
Aaron and Casey had a rough afternoon, so they had to hash that out before talking sports. After they has out their differences they talk about Marshawn Lynch, Josh Hamilton, Yoan Moncada, the NFL Combine, and many other things.
Aaron and Casey sat down — just them for the first time in a while — and reflected on their Valentine’s Day, sports, and life. They talked about the upcoming NFL veteran’s combine, NFL draft, and the merits of Rickie Weeks as a utility player for the Seattle Mariners. They also talked about Russell Wilson and his enjoyment of 50 Shades of Grey.
Alex Akita is back to talk about the Seahawks mostly, but also a variety of other topics that may be less good for a written medium. Alex talked to Aaron and Casey about the Seahawks offseason needs, players they may cut, and players they may draft. They also talked about seals having sex with penguins, for some reason.
On this episode of Offspeed Podcast, Casey and Aaron are joined by the great Kermet Apio. Kermet is best known as one of the most successful comedians in the Seattle area, but is also an avid Seattle sports fan who moved to Seattle from Hawaii during one of the pivotal times in Seattle sports. Kermet talked to Aaron and Casey about the Super Bowl (ugh) but by the end of the podcast/therapy session all of the guys feel a lot better.
